Our association life
The associative life of Action Femmes et handicap is first and foremost it’s members.
Indeed, members are the very essence of the organization. Without them, AFH has no reason to exist! They make up the General Meeting.
The General Meeting
The General Meeting is sovereign. It represents AFH’s first decision-making body, with regard to the organization’s orientations and objectives, among other things.
Although Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs) may be held throughout the year as required, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is the only recurring event.
The AGM is a privileged annual meeting point for all members of Action Femmes et Handicap. It’s an opportunity for them to get together and identify new priorities. It is also at this meeting that the Board of Directors is elected to represent the members for the coming year.
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors (BOD) is accountable to the General Meeting for its mandate. The Board collectively administers the organization's affairs and ensures the implementation of the orientations determined at the Annual General Meeting.
Our members
Members are the very essence of the organization. Without them, the organization has no reason to exist!
Committees
The Board of Directors may form advisory and working committees according to the needs and objectives of the organization (financing, programming, advocacy, drafting briefs, analysis and recommendations related to various issues). Committees are made up of AFH members and any other women whose expertise may be beneficial in achieving the organization’s objectives.
